Orchid Opulence Metal Posters

Eight orchid studies, mostly shot against near-black: speckled blooms glowing out of shadow, cream and gold arrangements lit like heirloom jewellery, the violet Cooktown orchid that serves as Queensland's floral emblem, and one stencilled onto a peeling plaster wall for contrast. Orchids are the most architectural of flowers and they photograph best with the lights down, which is why this collection is darker than Vibrant Blooms. That makes it useful in rooms with plenty of light, where a bright print would wash out but a dark one holds. Reads as expensive, which is a fair description of what orchids cost anyway. Good in a bedroom or an entrance hall. Orchid flower art at the dark end — a dark botanical print rather than a bright one, and the best moody floral wall art in the catalogue by a clear margin.
